How Often Should You Water New Turf?

One of the most important factors in successful turf installation is proper watering. Newly laid turf requires consistent moisture to establish strong roots.

The First Two Weeks

During the first 14 days after installation, the soil beneath the turf should remain moist at all times.

Water daily, particularly during dry weather.

Weeks Three and Four

Once roots begin establishing, watering frequency can be reduced.

Water deeply every two or three days depending on rainfall.

After Turf Is Established

After around four weeks, most lawns require watering once or twice per week during dry periods.

Deep watering encourages roots to grow deeper into the soil.
